How to Choose Your Wedding Shoes

Article by Lisa Miller

Your wedding shoes matter as well when you are choosing your accessories for your wedding gown. When you see past wedding albums of friends, you can usually see pictures of their wedding shoes together with their wedding gown. And this is just a common notion for brides since we are innate to love shoes. There are just some reminders when choosing your wedding shoes that one can simply take into consideration.

The shoe color. Although the most common color for wedding shoes is white because most brides prefer to match the color of their gowns with their shoes, but some brides tend to go for an alternative color. Some brides go for metallic shades of silver, bronze or gold or even some with the shoe colors of pink and red. Some even go for the color blue and make their shoe as their “something blue”. Those brides who prefer this different style tend to choose a different shade since they want to be more unique in their choosing.

The shoe fabric. Most wedding shoes are made of cotton materials of satin or silk that could also be embedded with some stones or beads that match the wedding gown itself. The shoes can also be dyed to perfectly match the tone of the gown. But there are also some leather shoes available for the occasion that you could also look upon. But just make sure that it matches the gown before purchasing.

Look for comfy shoes. Since you are going to walk, dance, sit, walk, and dance again the whole day or night, you need to have comfortable shoes to help you become a happy bride. You can either use a comfortable old shoe that you have that will match your wedding gown or you can buy a designer brand that you trust will give you a greater foot comfort. You can also try putting on your wedding shoes for an hour for the next seven days before your wedding to make the fabric break in and to make you comfortable and familiar with your shoes. The style of your shoes. When choosing your shoes, you also have to consider how formal the wedding day is, the season you are going to use your shoes, the type of dress you are going to wear, and the location of your ceremony and reception. Selecting the right style should always follow those choices.
